What started as a few friends and guides gathering around the bed of a truck to work on their skill, and see who’s improved has now become a national pastime for many individuals and teams traveling across the country to participate in Duck and Goose Calling Contests.
With a Winnie Texas setting on the coastal prairie, in rice country and with the coastal marsh a Texas stones throw away. There isn’t a better location for a Duck and Goose Calling Contest than Winnie Texas, and the Trevor Lee Chesson Memorial Marsh Fest. With a county park setting among the oak trees it’s sure to bring in individuals and teams from across Texas, Louisiana and southern states.
Two days of calling with events from individual to team, from the World Champions to 5 year olds. The Marsh Fest Calling Contest is one that will be a sure stop for many as they work their way to the World Finals.
Mutton Bustin’ is a favorite of many kids, but adults and spectators enjoy it greatly. As the gate swings open and the sheep darts across the arena fans stand and cheer for each contestant.

When the last gate swings open and the child raises his arms in the air a buckle will be awarded to the Best Mutton Bustin’ rider for the 2018 Trevor Lee Chasson Mutton Bustin’ contest.
